Ziggy

I do not recall the day it was that Ziggy joined our family but it was the same day I had jury duty because my mother and brother came and met me at the courthouse during my lunch break and they had Ziggy in the car with them. At that time she was nameless, at the shelter she had been referred to as Lucy. Ziggy was quiet and polite, sitting in the backseat next to my brother. My mama bought me a sandwich, and that is all I really remember about our first meeting.

Since then, I have learned more about Ziggy. She has separation anxiety, is very sweet, can go bonkers on walks, loves to run, and has a penchant for chewing plastic items. She loves to be petted, oh how she loves it. Its quite adorable really, she even runs up to random strangers and puts her front paws on their thigh, begging for a stroke on her little black head.

When Ziggy moves, she trots like a little piggy and when she gazes up at you she looks exactly like a seal. She got along smashingly with her non-biological sister, the late and great Miss Lola. I think now that Lola has gone away she misses her terribly because her chewing of items has increased.

So far we have lost

  1. a wii remote
  2. her collar
  3. my new jessica simpson flats
  4. the usb connector for my wireless mouse (luckily it still works but its mangled beyond belief)
I have since bought her several delicious items from Trader Joe's. The best so far i think, is a rawhide stick wrapped with a bit of dried chicken. I like it because it takes her awhile to choose and she really has to gnaw at it. And then I am hoping, that by the time she is doe with it, her jaw will be too tired to chew on anything else.

It is most obvious that Ziggy, like her human companions, is of European descent. Ziggy looks so good sporting this hand-crocheted kerchief.
